Men’s Basketball Picked Sixth in PacWest Poll

IRVINE, Calif. – The Chaminade University men's basketball team was picked to finish sixth in the Pacific West Conference Coaches Poll released Friday.PWC MBB poll
 
The Silverswords received 67 points, four behind Concordia University Irvine, which was selected to finish fifth.
 
By just a single point, Azusa Pacific was chosen by the PacWest coaches to finish as the conference champion, just edging out defending champion Point Loma.
 
Point Loma's Kaden Anderson, the two-time PacWest Player of the Year, was the chosen to win it for a third time as the Preseason Player of the Year. No 'Swords were selected to the preseason team.
 
Chaminade opens their season next week in a three-game exhibition series in the Midwest, starting Tuesday at Ohio State. On Thursday, they face Louisville, then wrap up their trip on Monday, Nov. 7 at Cincinnati. The series is part of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational agreement that has the Silverswords playing Maui Jim Maui Invitational participants on the mainland every even year.
 
The 'Swords open regular season action on Friday, Nov. 11 in the PacWest/GNAC Challenge against Alaska Anchorage at the HPU Shark Tank.
