HONOLULU – An early season exhibition trip to three Division I powers and three non-conference tournaments highlight the Chaminade University men's basketball schedule in 2022-23.
The Silverswords will travel to three of the participants of this year's Maui Jim Maui Invitational, opening their exhibition season on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at Ohio State. The 'Swords continue the trip on Thursday, Nov. 3 at Louisville then wraps on Monday, Nov. 7 at Cincinnati. It is only the second trip to the Midwest by the program since December 1999 when they played Ball State in Muncie, Indiana.
Chaminade opens regular season action with the PacWest/GNAC Challenge on Friday, Nov. 11 against the University of Alaska and Alaska Anchorage at the Hawai'i Pacific University Shark Tank.
The Silverswords will also face Cal State San Bernardino and Bacone College in the Hoops in Hawai'i Thanksgiving from Nov. 25-26 which will also be at the Shark Tank. They will participate in their final regular season tournament at the Hoops in Hawai'i Holiday Classic from Dec. 17-19 against St. Edwards's, Saint Martin's and Simon Fraser.
Chaminade opens Pacific West Conference action on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at HPU. The Silverswords make their home debut on Saturday, Dec. 3 against the University of Hawai'i Hilo at McCabe Gymnasium.
The'Swords will step out of conference action in their first contest of the 2023 calendar year with a matchup against Champion Christian. They resume PacWest contests on Jan. 5 against Concordia University Irvine to start a six-game conference home stand.
Senior Night will be on Wednesday, Feb. 15 against Fresno Pacific.
Chaminade will then host the PacWest Championships starting Thursday, March 2 at McCabe Gym with the conference championship set for March 4.
