Men’s Golf Finishes Third in Big Island Tri-Match

WAIKOLOA, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University men's golf team on Sunday completed the 36-hole Hawai'i Tri-Match third overall at 615.
 
After shooting a first round 313 on Saturday at the Mauna Lani Golf Course, the site of the 2024 Pacific West Conference Championships, the scene shifted to Waikoloa Beach Course for the second and final round, where the Silverswords posted a 302.
 
The University of Hawai'i Hilo won the team event at 579.
 
Matt Monaghan (Port Huron, Mich./Port Huron), playing as a non-scoring individual, was Chaminade's low two-round scorer with a 149 after shooting a final round even-par 72. Monaghan finished 10 shots behind tournament winner, Dysen Park of UH Hilo.
 
Blake Buonopane (Rowley, Mass./St. John's Prep) and Ky Stopp (Long Beach, Calif./Woodrow Wilson) both finished with 153s followed by Ethan Alexander just a shot behind at 154.
 
Zachary DuBourdieu (Carlsbad, Calif./Sage Creek) shot 158 followed by Jack Yeager (San Clemente, Calif./JSerra Catholic) at 160 and Ro Razavi (O'Fallon, Mo./Liberty) at 166.
 
The Silverswords return to the Big Island for the three-round Hawai'i Pacific Sharks Shootout on Monday, Oct. 23, at Mauna Lani.
