Chaminade University goalkeepers
Naomi Takata (Honolulu/Pearl City) and
Brandon Yasue (Honolulu/Kaiser) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Silversword Female and Male Athletes of the Week for competition between Nov. 6-12.
Takata concluded her stellar five-year career by helping the women's soccer team force a 2-2 draw against 25th-ranked Hawai'i Hilo. The senior prevented the Vulcans from scoring in the second half to help the 'Swords pull even in the final minutes. Takata owns most of the program's goalkeeping records.
In his final game in a Silverswords' uniform, Yasue made a career-high 16 saves against UH Hilo, the second most in program history. He departs among the program's all-time leaders in wins, ties and saves.
