2/28/2023 7:54:00 PM

IRVINE, Calif. – Chaminade University guards Isaac Amaral-Artharee (Portland, Ore./Central Catholic) and Braden Olsen (West Linn, Ore./Gannon University/West Linn HS) were named Tuesday to the Pacific West Conference Second Team while Ross Reeves (Orem, Utah/Snow College/Orem HS) was lauded as the Freshman of the Year, as voted on by the conference coaches.

It is the third All-PacWest honor for Amaral-Artharee, who was named to the All-PacWest Hawai'i Pod in 2020-21 and to the third team in 2021-22. He was also the Freshman of the Year in 2019-20. Amaral-Artharee finished as the Silverswords' leading scorer and was fifth in the conference regular season at 16.5 points per game while finishing second in free throw percentage at 84.0 percent (79-of-94). The redshirt junior was also among conference leaders in field goal percentage (45.8), 3-point percentage (40.0) and 3-pointers per game (2.1).

With 1,321 career points, Amaral-Artharee is 11th in the program's all-time scoring list.

Olsen, a graduate transfer from Gannon University in Pennsylvania, ended the regular season as the PacWest's assist leader at 5.4 per game which also is 19th in Division II. He also averaged 13.7 points per game and was 14th in free throw percentage at 79.4 percent. His shooting percentage of 49.4 and 3-point percentage of 44.4 would have also ranked among PacWest leaders but he did not have enough made field goals to qualify.

Reeves is the eighth-leading scorer in the PacWest at a 15.5 per game clip and was second on the 'Swords' squad with 83 assists. The redshirt freshman finished eighth in the conference in field goal percentage (45.9), ninth in 3-point percentage (40.0) and fifth in 3-pointers per game (2.2).

For the third consecutive season, Point Loma guard Kaden Anderson is the PacWest Player of the Year while Matt Logie was the Coach of the Year after leading the Sea Lions to the conference's first-ever 20-win undefeated season. PLNU is also the first PacWest squad to complete an undefeated conference regular season since BYU-Hawai'i was 12-0 during the 2008-29 season.

Hawai'i Hilo had two members recognized individually. Nadjrick Peat was the Defender of the Year and Carlos Ramsey, Jr. the Newcomer of the Year.

Chaminade is hosting the PacWest Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament for the first time ever this week at McCabe Gym. The Silverswords, seeded sixth, face No. 3 seed Academy of Art on Thursday at 5 p.m. in one quarterfinal game.
