Men’s Golf Remains Sixth, Alexander Among Leaders

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – The Chaminade University men's golf team on Tuesday remained in sixth place overall after shooting a 313 in the second round of the Pacific West Conference Championships at the par-72, 7,025-yard Wigwam Golf Course.
 
The Silverswords, whose two-day total is 629, are eight shots behind fifth-place Hawai'i Pacific University entering Wednesday's final round. The University of Hawai'i Hilo continues to have a wide lead in the championships, holding an 11-stroke lead over Holy Names University at 579.
 
Ethan Alexander (New Rochelle, N.Y./Fordham Prep) remains in contention for the individual title at 1-over-par 145. The freshman is in fourth place, just three shots behind UH Hilo co-leaders Junsu Im and Andrew Otani. Alexander played steady golf during the second 18 holes, shooting a Day 2 score of 2-over 74 with 13 pars and two birdies with three holes being over-par.
 
Zachary DuBourdieu (Carlsbad, Calif./Sage Creek) carded a 6-over 78 in the second round and is in a tie for 22nd overall at 13-over 157. The freshman was at 1-over for the round through 14 holes but encountered trouble down the stretch, shooting a plus-5 in the final four holes.
 
Matt Monaghan (Port Huron, Mich./Port Huron) sits at 162 in 25th after posting a second-round 79.
 
Schuyler Peterson (Huntington Beach, Calif./Mater Dei) has a 36-hole total of 169 followed by Kal O'Brien (Mackinaw City, Mich./Marymount California Univ./Mackinaw City HS) at 172.
 
The PacWest Championship concludes Wednesday with the final round.
