Men’s Golf Opens Round 1 of Hawai‘i Triangular

WAIKOLOA, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University men's golf team opened the Hawai'i Triangular on Saturday in second at the par-70 Waikoloa Beach Course.
 
The Silverswords are at plus-12 with an aggregate score of 292, just four shots behind first round leader, University of Hawai'i Hilo. Hawai'i Pacific University is 10 shots back of the 'Swords.
 
Jack Yeager (San Clemente, Calif./JSerra Catholic) is third overall at even-par-70 and just two shots behind Round 1 leader, UH Hilo's Katsuhiro Yamashita.
 
Ethan Alexander (New Rochelle, N.Y./Fordham Prep) is one shot behind Yeager while freshman A.J. Dahlk (Centerport, N.Y./Harborfields) is at 5-over 75. Blake Buonopane (Rowley, Mass./St. John's Prep) is at 6-over 76.
 
Ky Stopp (Long Beach, Calif./Woodrow Wilson) is at plus-7, as well as Matt Monaghan (Port Huron, Mich./Port Huron), who is playing as an individual (meaning their scores will not count as a part of the team during the tournament).
 
Also participating as individuals are Zachary DuBourdieu (Carlsbad, Calif./Sage Creek) and Jack Shea (Somerset, Mass./Bishop Stang) who are both at plus-13.
 
The Triangular concludes with the 18-hole finale as the tournament shifts to the par-72 Mauna Lani Golf Course. First tee times are at 8 a.m.
