Chaminade University guards
Sameera Elmasri (Shawnee, Kan./Birmingham-Southern Univ./Saint Thomas Aquinas HS) and
Kameron Ng (Kaneohe, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Univ. of Hawai'i Hilo/Saint Francis HS) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Silversword Female and Male Athletes of the Week for competition between Nov. 4-10.
Elmasri averaged 20.5 points and four rebounds for the women's basketball squad's season-opening two-game series against Embry-Riddle of Arizona. The senior had 23 points in Friday's opener – one shy of the career-high she set while as a member of Birmingham-Southern College – with three rebounds and five steals. She added 18 and four boards in Sunday's rematch.
Ng totaled 21 points and 13 assists for the men's basketball team in the season-opening PacWest/GNAC Challenge. The fifth-year senior posted his highest point total in a Chaminade uniform with 14 last Friday against Alaska Fairbanks as well as a career-high eight assists to just one turnover. In the Challenge finale against Alaska Anchorage, he had seven points and five more assists.
