LONG BEACH, Calif. – Chaminade University guard Kris King (Washington, D.C./Vincennes University/Fork Union Military Academy) on Monday was named the Pacific West Conference Player of the Week.

The 6-foot-5 junior college transfer hit 10-of-20 shots for 27 points while adding six steals in the Silverswords' lone game against the University of Alaska Fairbanks on Monday, Nov. 11. He hit two 3-pointers and was 5-of-6 from the free throw line.

King is the second Silversword in as many weeks named the PacWest Player of the Week. Jackson Last (Hurricane, Utah/Robert Morris University/Hurricane HS) received the honor on Nov. 11. He is averaging 15.7 points and 3.0 steals per game to start the season.

Biola's Casey Cappo was named the conference's Defender of the Week while conference newcomers Jessup and Vanguard were the Co-Teams of the Week.

The Silverswords, who are off to their best start since the 2018-19 season and first 3-0 start against non-Division I foes since 2019-20, host Northwest Indian College on Wednesday at McCabe Gym. Tipoff is 25 minutes after the completion of the 'Swords' women's contest against the University of Alaska Fairbanks, which begins at 5:30 p.m.
