ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Chaminade University men's golf team made their 2024 spring debut on Monday, shooting a 607 after the first two rounds of the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout at the par-72 Corica Park Golf Course.
The Silverswords are 16th overall and lead Westmont College by a shot after the first 36 holes.
Zachary DuBourdieu (Carlsbad, Calif./Sage Creek) posted Chaminade's low score after two rounds, carding a 3-over-par 147, tying him for 40th overall. The sophomore opened at 3-over in the first 18 then shot even-par in the second 18.
Jack Yeager (San Clemente, Calif./JSerra Catholic) is two shots behind DuBourdieu at 5-over 149.
Ethan Alexander (New Rochelle, N.Y./Fordham Prep) and
Ky Stopp (Long Beach, Calif./Woodrow Wilson) both shot 158 followed by
Blake Buonopane (Rowley, Mass./St. John's Prep) at 168.
Western New Mexico is the 36-hole leader at 554. Tyler Ashman of Chico State is the Round 2 leader at 8-under 136, holding a one-shot lead over five others.
The third and final round of the Pioneer Shootout is Tuesday with a shotgun start time of 5 a.m. Hawai'i time.
