IRVINE, Calif. – Chaminade University men's golfer
Ky Stopp (Long Beach, Calif./Woodrow Wilson) was named to the All-Pacific West Conference Men's Golf Second Team in voting by the conference coaches.
The freshman earned the award after finishing seventh at the PacWest Championships on the Big Island last month. Stopp was the tournament's 36-hole co-leader before being overtaken early in the final round.
Stopp averaged a team-low 75.8 strokes per round this past season. He ended the season with a 244 in helping the 'Swords capture the PGA WORKS Division II Collegiate Championship in Florida, Chaminade's first national championship in any sport.
Academy of Art's Giulio Zacnichelli was the voted as the Player of the Year while Kyle Krupp was the Freshman of the Year. Hawai'i Hilo's Earl Tamiya is the Coach of the Year.
