ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Chaminade University men's golf team completed their first spring championship match, the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout, on Tuesday with a final round 305 to finish 16th overall at 907 at the par-72 Corica Golf Course. The Silverswords shot 302 and 300 in Monday's first two rounds.
Jack Yeager (San Clemente, Calif./JSerra Catholic) posted Chaminade's low overall score with a 4-over-par 220, shooting a final round 1-over 73.
Ethan Alexander (New Rochelle, N.Y./Fordham Prep) was next with a 5-over 221 while
Ky Stopp (Long Beach, Calif./Woodrow Wilson) finished his three rounds at 9-over 225.
A.J. Dahlk (Centerport, N.Y./Harborfields) completed his first collegiate tournament in the spring championship season at 241 followed by
Blake Buonopane (Rowley, Mass./St. John's Prep) at 252.
Cal State San Marcos took both the team and individual titles with the Cougars shooting a minus-14, winning by two shots over Sonoma State. Greg Mouser shot a 9-under 207, one shot better than Sonoma's Ivan Sablan.
The Silverswords next competition will be at the Arizona Spring Break Invitationals in Arizona, two separate tournaments co-hosted by Colorado Christian College and the Colorado School of Mines. The first invitational will be on Saturday, March 22.
