HONOLULU – The Chaminade University men's golf team put together a solid 2024-25 season ending with a second straight appearance the PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship at one of the top golf courses in the United States.

The Silverswords, who were looking to repeat as PWCC champions, couldn't put together consistent rounds and managed to finish fifth at the famed Whistling Straits Golf Course in Wisconsin.

Ky Stopp (Long Beach, Calif./Woodrow Wilson) put together a standout year where both his versus-par scoring of 3.09 per round and 74.82 score per round are both the lowest for a single season in school history. The sophomore, who finished third overall at the PWCC, was named to the All-Pacific West Conference Team for the second straight year and is just the second golfer in program history to be a two-time all-conference selection (Jarin Harada is the other). His career scoring average of 75.42 is also the lowest in team history.

But not to be outdone, fellow sophomore Jack Yeager (San Clemente, Calif./JSerra Catholic) also had a superb season. His 3.75 versus-par scoring would have been the lowest in a single season if not for Stopp's performance. Yeager's career per-round average of 75.98 is also send to his teammate.

Ethan Alexander (New Rochelle, N.Y./Fordham Prep), who finished the 2023-24 season as the PWCC runner-up, had another productive season with a 76.36 per-round average. The junior also set a school single-round record by firing a 5-under-par 67 in the second round of the Hot Dirt Desert Shootout in Arizona on March 21.

Blake Buonopane (Rowley, Mass./St. John's Prep) continued to show marked improvement on the course with his 9.09 versus-par average being a career low. The senior also had 14 rounds that counted in team scoring, also a career best.

A.J. Dahlk (Centerport, N.Y./Harborfields) had flashes during his freshman campaign with 14 counting scores with a scoring average of 81.25.

Jack Shea (Somerset, Mass./Bishop Stang) played two competitive rounds, both during the fall non-championship season, while Tanner Capik (Los Angeles/Beverly Hills) will look to make his mark in coming seasons.
