HONOLULU – Chaminade University men's basketball head coach
Eric Bovaird on Tuesday announced the signing class for the 2025-26 season.
Bruce Carpenter from Fayetteville, Georgia, comes to Chaminade after spending last season at Division II Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. The 6-foot-2 guard saw action in nine games, totaling 41 points, 23 rebounds and seven assists for the Golden Knights, who finished 27-7, captured the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Atlantic Regional final. Prior to Gannon, Carpenter was at Division I Houston Baptist in 2023-24 but suffered a season-ending injury after just three games. He also attended North Platte Junior College in Nebraska, where he was an All-NCCAC selection in 2022-23.
Brandon Haddock is a 6-2 guard from Southlake, Texas, who went to Division I University of Utah. Haddock spent two years on his LDS mission after graduating from Carroll High School in 2019. In his three seasons as a Ute, he played 24 games totaling 42 minutes and 14 points with three 3-pointers. During his senior season at Carroll, Haddock was the District 5-AAAAAA offensive most valuable player after averaging 24 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals with a career-high 42 points.
Nathan Medina, a 6-3 guard from Long Beach, California, joins the Silverswords after transferring from fellow Pacific West Conference member Biola University. A 2023-24 All-PacWest First Team honors his sophomore season, Medina posted a 16.3 scoring average with 56 3-pointers while shooting at a 43.5 percent clip from the floor. He averaged 12.3 points and 3.2 rebounds with the Eagles this past season before an injury ended his '24-25 campaign.

Pejan Slater joins the 'Swords after playing last season at Citrus College in Glendora, California. The 6-foot-8 incoming junior helped the Owls to a 29-3 mark, the program's most wins since 2008, a 14-0 Western Conference-South title, the team's third straight, and an appearance in the 3C2A state championship semifinal. Slater averaged 8.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and a 49.5 percentage from the floor with a season-high 19 points against Santiago Canyon on Dec. 7. His freshman season (2023-24) was at fellow Division II member Cal Poly Humboldt, starting 18 of the Lumberjacks' 23 games, averaging 4.3 points and 4.2 boards per game.
The Silverswords are coming off a 16-11 campaign, their first winning season since 2019-20.
