KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chaminade University men's basketball team on Thursday was honored for academic honors by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
For the 10th straight year, the Silverswords earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards after posting a 3.16 grade-point average for the 2024-25 academic year. To earn the Team Academic Excellence Award, teams must have a minimum 3.00 GPA during the academic year.
Individually, seven 'Swords were recognized on the NABC Honors Court. They are:
- Roland Banks II (Bakersfield, Calif./Fullerton College/Cathedral HS)
- Zeki Cavli (Bodrum, Turkey/McCook JC/Myerscough College HS)
- Kent King (Washington, D.C./Vincennes University/Fork Union Military Academy)
- Jackson Last (Hurricane, Utah/Robert Morris University/Hurricane HS)
- Fletcher MacDonald (Wollongong, Australia/Lubbock Christian Univ./Newington College HS)
- Kameron Ng (Kaneohe, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Univ. of Hawai'i Hilo/Saint Francis HS)
- Brycen Shackelford (Folsom, Calif./Folsom)
Ng, a Criminal Justice and Criminology major, was named to the Honors Court for the second consecutive year.
To be on the Honors Court, student-athletes must be juniors, seniors or graduate students and post a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or better.
