Chaminade University libero Kyra Pagud (Honolulu/Moanalua) and outside hitter Lillie Hinton (Spicewood, Texas/Lake Travis) were honored after their efforts this past weekend, the first full opening weekend of NCAA Division II competition.

Pagud on Monday was named the Pacific West Conference Defender of the Week for posting stellar defensive numbers to the tune of a 4.61 digs per set average through the first six matches of the season which includes the three matches at the Hawai'i-Alaska Challenge the weekend prior.

The senior logged double-digit digs in all six matches including a career-high 33 against Western Washington last Friday, tied for the eighth-highest in a single match and the most since Nanna Inoue's 34 in November 2022. She also delivered six service aces in last weekend's Central Washington Invitational.

In addition to earning her first PacWest award, Pagud was also named to the CWU Invitational All-Tournament Team after totaling 72 digs (a 5.54 per set clip).

Hinton was named to the all-tourney team as a pin hitter after posting 42 kills, an average of 3.23 per set.

The Silverswords (2-4) will make their home debut in this weekend's Hawai'i Challenge with a pair of matches on Thursday (12 p.m. vs. Saint Martin's; 6 p.m. vs. Western Colorado).

Fans are reminded that parking on campus for matches starting prior to 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday are restricted to students, faculty and staff who have valid university permits. Fans may park in the overflow gravel lot at the top of campus (see map on this link).
