Honolulu, HI- With a hard rain in Kaneohe, Sunday's doubleheader with HPU was moved to Kailua, where the Swords fell 5-0, 4-3.
In the first game, Chaminade was led by Heidi Garcia with two of the four Swords hits. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth, when HPU got one across. The SeaWarriors added 4 runs in the bottom of the sixth for the final score. Annaliese Moergeli took the loss for CUH, giving up 10 hits in 5 1/3 innings. Dayna Berry took the win for HPU, while Kara Wedemeyer led the attack with 2 hits and 2 RBI's.
In game two, the SeaWarriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but CUH answered with Brandi Sasaki's homerun in the top of the fifth to knot the score. After a short rain delay, Dayna Berry singled in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth to take the win 4-3. Marissa Tybor started on the mound for Chaminade and Courtney Kess took the win for HPU.
With the losses, Chaminade falls to 2-8 on the year, while HPU goes to 7-3 on the year. Next up for the Swords are Simon Fraser, from British Colombia, Canada on Wednesday, Feb. 22nd for a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 4:30pm.
