Five members of the Chaminade University softball team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
Bailey Benson (Cheney, Wash./Gonzaga Preparatory),
Miranda Diaz (Whittier, Calif./Cerritos College/California HS),
Mikala Jacobsen (Buena Park, Calif./Cypress College/Cypress HS),
Kamryn Lopez (Bakersfield, Calif./Garces Memorial) and
Isabel Rodriguez (Littleton, Colo./Columbine) were recognized for their work in the classroom.
Benson, Diaz and Lopez were named CSC Academic All-District for the second time while Jacobsen and Rodriguez are first-time honorees. All five are seniors.
Benson, who received her degree in Integrated Marketing Communication, led the Silverswords with four wins and two saves this past season. She ended her career with 14 wins, tied for 12th in program history, while her three saves are tied for third.
Diaz, a third baseman, hit .291 her senior year and finished third with 22 RBI. The Sport and Event Management graduate posted a 0.043 strikeout rate (5 in 117 at-bats), a drastic improvement after a 0.116 rate in 2025.
Jacobsen, who received her degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, was the team's primary centerfielder this past season, hitting .329, which was the second-highest on the team, and hit in the leadoff spot 39 times. Jacobsen was third in runs (20) and stolen bases (6).
Lopez, who graduated this spring with a degree in Data Science, made 22 appearances in the circle with six starts, recording a win in 63 1/3 innings. She ended her four-year 'Swords career with 11 wins and an ERA of 4.64.
Rodriguez was in the lineup card 36 times with 31 of her starts in left field and graduated with her degree in Psychology. She walked 18 times and was 10-of-11 in stolen bases. With 18 career steals, Rodriguez ranks ninth all-time in the category.
To be recognized on the Academic All-District team, candidates must be a sophomore both academically and athletically, have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 and have played in either 90 percent or have started in 66 percent of their team's contests. Pitchers need to have at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.
Institutions can nominate up to five candidates for Academic All-District honors.
The Division II CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II Academic All-America® programs.
