Honolulu, HI -Chaminade drops both game of their double header to the University of Hawaii at Hilo at Central Oahu Regional Park. Keli-Grace Saniatan spoiled the Vulcan's no hitter with a single in the bottom of the fifth inning of game one. The Silverswords 5 hits were not enough in the second game as UH-Hilo racked up 10 of their own.
Game one the bats were not making contact for Chaminade, as UH-Hilo scored 5 runs in the first, adding on another 6 in the second inning. The Vulcans finished the game with 18 hits driving in 17 runs. Keli-Grace Saniatan had the Swords only hit in the bottom of the fifth as the game ended 17-0.
The second game saw CUH playing much tougher defense as the Vulcans were held to only 10 hits for the game. Chaminade did not allow more than 2 runs in any single inning, and did not give up more than 1 run until the top of the seventh inning. Offensively the Swords were able to get five hits against the tough Vulcan defense, but once again it was not enough as the game ended 7-0.
The Silverswords were led by Saniatan and De Los Santos as they both finished off the night with a pair of hits. Fisher and Yamaguchi added a hit each on the night.
The Vulcans were led by Sevilla and Sing Chow with 4 hits each.
With the losses, Chaminade falls to 0-7 on the year, while UH-Hilo moves to 12-2 with the victory.
Chaminade faces the University of Hawaii-Hilo again Sunday at home for a doubleheader at 12 Noon and 2 p.m. on February 25th.
