Honolulu, HI -The Silverswords drop both games of their double header to the University of Hawaii at Hilo. CUH battled back in game one, down 4 runs going into the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring 2 runs. The rally proved too little to late as the Vulcans won 4-2. UH-Hilo once again overpowered Chaminade in game two as Carolyn Fisher pitch both games of the double header. The Vulcans ended the game with 13 hits to CUH's 5 with a final score of 10-1.
Defense was the name of the game in game one as the Swords held the Vulcans to no 1 run in 3 innings of play. UH-Hilo was able to get 2 runs in the fourth and one more in the sixth when the Chaminade battled back with 2 runs of their own. The Vulcans were able to hold on and end the game 4-2
The second game saw Carolyn Fisher back on the mound. Fisher threw over 200 pitches on the day and gave up 13 hits in game two. Chaminade swung the bat better turning out 5 hits 2 by Yamaguchi and 2 from Lose. But it was the offense of UH-Hilo that prevailed with a score of 10-1.
The Silverswords were led by Saniatan, Yamaguchi, and Lose with 2 hits each on the afternoon.
The Vulcans were led by Osborn and Asamura with 4 hits each.
With the losses, Chaminade falls to 0-9 on the year, while UH-Hilo moves to 14-2 with the victory.
Chaminade faces the BYU-Hawaii, Thursday March 1 in Laie for a doubleheader at 12 Noon and 2 p.m.
