Swords Softball Falls To UH-Hilo 11-1, 8-0

Hilo, HI - The Chaminade Softball team met the nationally ranked Vulcans of UH-Hilo on Sunday after a Saturday rain out. The Swords fell in back to back games, 11-1 and 8-0.

CUH struggled at the plate in game one, connecting for only two hits and one RBI in sixteen at bats. The Vulcans capitalized at the plate with fourteen hits and nine RBI's in their twenty four at bats. Game two did not prove any better for the Silverswords as they went just one for seventeen with no RBI's, UH-Hilo however went six for sixteen with seven RBI's.

Three different Swords were responsible for the three hits on the day, Mihara, Sasaki and Yamaguchi all finished with a hit each, while Brandi Sasaki had the day's only RBI.

Senas and Badosa led the Vulcans with three hits in the two games. Badosa finished the afternoon with four RBI'S.

With the loss, Chaminade falls to 7-38 on the year, while UH-Hilo moves to 37-10 with the victory.

Chaminade is back home April 28, to face BYU-Hawaii in a double header at Kailua High School. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 Noon.
