Phoenix, AZ- Chaminade dropped a tough one tonight 3-2 to Grand Canyon in Antelope Gym.
The Swords were down early, losing game one 25-18. CUH bounced back in a big way winning a hard fought second game 25-18. The second game featured 7 ties and 6 lead changes. The Swords built on that momentum, dominating game three, winning 25-15.
GCU won game four and took the fifth and final game 15-9.
Chaminade was led by Courtney Lorusso with 12 kills, while Trina Kauliakamoa added 10 kills and 14 digs. Chauntelle Maduli led the defense with 36 digs.
The Antelopes out-hit Chaminade .193 to .088. GCU was led by Megan Toth with 20 kills.
Tanya Alvino added 33 assists for CUH.
With the loss, Chaminade moves to 8-9 on the year. Grand Canyon improves to 9-7. The Swords are back in action on October 4th vs. Grand Canyon. Game time is set for 7:00 MT.
The Lady Swords return home on October 10th to face Hawaii Pacific. First serve is set for 7PM at McCabe Gym.
