San Francisco, CA- In a Pac West Conference matchup at Crocker Amazon Park, Chaminade responded to an early AAU goal with four first half goals of their own en route to a 4-2 road victory.
Academy of Art got the first goal in the 4th minute with a goal by Daniel Higa. The next 84 minutes were all Chaminade, as they opened up a 4-1 lead in the first half. Michael Marrs (Kihei, HI/Baldwin) started the scoring in the 11th minute, Keenan Ho (Honolulu, HI/St. Louis) added another goal in the 17th minute, Brandon Salvador (Pearl City, HI/Pearl City) added one three minutes late and Nick Ogata (Mililani, HI/Mililani) put another on the board in the 44th minute.
The Swords defense held in the second half, giving up a late goal in the 90th minute for the 4-2 final.
Darren Smith (Mililani, HI/Mililani) made 2 saves in for CUH. Chaminade won the shot total 18-9.
The game was a physical one, with five yellow and two red cards issued in the match.
With the win, Chaminade moves to (2-7, 1-5). Academy of Art moves to (4-8-1, 1-7). Chaminade is set to play another Pac West conference match on October 14th at NDNU. Kickoff is set for 4:00 PM PT.
