Honolulu, HI- The Silverswords battled the Vulcans of UH-Hilo at home today in Pac West conference action, falling by a score of 6-0.

The score indicates a blowout, but for 58 minutes it was a one goal match, the lone Vulcan goal coming in the 25th minute by Drew Geis, his first of three on the morning.  The Vulcans took a 1-0 lead into the break.

The score remained the same until the 59th minute, helped by some stout Sword defending. The Vulcans tallied two goals within three minutes of each other in the second half (59th and 61st minutes) to open up a 3-0 lead. UH Hilo tacked on three more later on for a 6-0 final.

Freshman goalkeeper Hayes Sperry (Gulf Breeze, FL/Gulf Breeze) stopped two shots in the first half for Chaminade.

The Swords were out-shot 19-9.

With the loss, Chaminade moves to 1-6.  UH-Hilo moves to 3-4-1. Chaminade is set to play at UH-Hilo on October 13th. Kickoff is set for 12:30 PM HT.
