Waipahu, HI – The Lady Swords struggled out of the gates this afternoon and ended up being swept by their cross town rival, Hawaii Pacific University. They lost the first game 8 to 1 and the second game 4 to 3.
Major League Hall of Famer, Hank Aaron once said, “My motto was always keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the filed, the thing to do was keep swinging.”
The Lady Swords need to keep in mind that HPU is a tough team, in fact last season they were 24-5 in the PacWest. When they took the field today they most definitely had their hands full, they fought hard and never gave up.
Rest assured Chaminade faithful our Lady Swords fought hard and nearly pulled out the spilt in the second game. However, great pitching and defense from the Sea Warriors proved to be too much.
The Lady Swords are back in action one week from today as they take on the Seasiders of BYU Hawaii in another double header match up. First pitch is set for 12:00PM HST at Central Oahu Regional Park in Waipahu.
With the losses today, CUH falls to 1-3 overall on the year, while Hawaii Pacific University improves their record to 6-0 overall.
