CUH- SB: Lady Swords Sweep Dominican University 2 Games to 0.

Game # 1

This game was a 0 to 0 tie until the Lady Swords erupted in the bottom of the 5th inning and scored 7 runs. CUH up until that point had only 2 hits, in the 7th inning they had 6 hits and as stated before, scored 7 runs.  

Kelly Korras started on the mound for Silverswords of Chaminade University. She faced 19batters; she struck out 2and she did not give up any earned runs. She gave up just 4 hits. Kasy'e Lalau came in for Korras in Top of the 5th inning and pitched the remainder of the game. Because all of the Lady Swords runs were scored in the bottom of the 5th inning, Kasy'e Lalau gets credit for the win; she improves to 3-4 on the year.

Game # 2

The Lady Swords wasted no time and posted 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning.

Chaminade had 13 hits on 29 bats, for you non softball folk; that's a team batting average of nearly 450. In other words, CUH was getting a hit roughly 45% every time they stepped up to the plate in the second game. Dominican was 5 for 26, this was a team batting average of 192 or 19% of the time they stepped up to the plate they got a hit.

The numbers tell the story in this game, plain and simple. The Lady Swords out hit and outperformed the Dominican University Penguins in game # 2. CUH won this game easily 10 to 2.

Chelsi Walls gets credit for the win; she improves to 3-3 on the year.

The Lady Swords are back in action March 12th at CORP, when they once again take on the Penguins of Dominican University in a double header match up.  First pitch is set for12:00PM HST, with the sweep today, CUH's record is o 9-9 overall and 6-4 in the PacWest Conference and Dominican's record is now 1-9 overall and 1-7 in the PacWest Conference.
