Lady Swords Swept By Red Storm of Dixie State 12 to 0 and 9 to 1

St. George, UT– The Lady Swords took on the Red Storm of Dixie State for the second straight day and fell in both of the games, 12 to 0 and 9 runs to 1. CUH did not start the first of two games well; they gave up 4 runs on 5 hits in the first inning of the game.

Game # 1

Chaminade lost the first game by way of the mercy rule, 12 runs to 0. Dixie State hit the ball very well, headed into the bottom of the 5th inning, they had  /  While Chaminade managed just 3 hitd all game, thanks in part to Shalin “Anuhea” Yamaguchi 's single to left field in the bottom of the 3rd inning and Kristine “Chiko” Mihara's single in the bottom of the 4th inning and Keli-Grace (KG) Kaowili- Sanatian's single in the bottom of the 5th inning.

Chaminade used all three pitchers in this first game in an attempt to find an answer to Dixie's solid performance. They were unable to find an answer to the Red Storm.

Kelly Korras started the game, she pitched just one inning. She gave up 5 hits and 4 earned runs. Chelsi Walls pitched 2.1 innings; she gave up 7 hits and 8 earned runs. Kasy'e Lalau came into the game the bottom of the 4th inning and pitched the remainder of the game. She gave up one hit in the 1.2 innings she pitched.

Kelly Korras is charged with the loss, she falls to 5-8 on the year.

Game # 2:

Chaminade lost the first game by way of the mercy rule, 9 runs to 0. Despite losing this game by 8 runs, CUH started out this game well, thanks in a large part to a double by Sky Virtudes. She knocked in the Lady Swords lone RBI on a double, at the end of one inning, the score was tied at 1 run a piece.

However, in the Red Storm would score 8 more runs in four innings. 4 of those runs game in the top of the 5th inning.

Kasy'e Lalau was the pitcher of the entire game, she pitched 5 innings, she gave up 14 hits and 9 earned runs.  She falls to 5-6 on the year.

The Lady Swords continue their mainland and will play in the annual Stanislaus tournament.  Their first opponent in the tournament the Wildcats of Chico State; currently their record is 13-11 overall. First pitch is set for 8:00AM PST, after the four game sweep in today's game against Dixie, CUH's record is now 13-19 overall and the Red Storm of Dixie State University improve their record to 15-8 overall.
