Waipahu, HI – This afternoon Chaminade took on the Vulcans of UH-Hilo at Central Oahu Regional Park (CORP) in a Pacific West Conference double header. The Lady Swords won the first game 9 to 4, however, struggled a bit with hitting in the second game and fell by a score of 4 to 0.

Chaminade can hold their heads up despite losing the second game; they fought hard until the bitter end.

Chelsey Walls stared on the mound for Chaminade and she pitched a good game. In fact, with her win, she is the first pitcher this year to record a conference victory. She faced 19 batters, struck out 1, walked 2, she gave up 1 run on 5hits. Kelly Korras gets credit with the save, she pitched 3 innings. She faced 14, struck out 1 and walked 1 batter. She gave up 3 hits and just 2 earned runs.
Chelsi Walls improves her record on the year to 1-3 on the year. Kelly Korras gets credit for the save, her first on the year and also team first as well.
Dawn Dela Cruz had a game to remember. She went 3 for 4 on the day. However, the one hit that eluded her from going 4 for 4 was an incredible blast. Dawn crushed the ball to deep center field, literally inches away from her first homerun this season. Should the ball have gone out of the park; the deep blast to center field would have also been her first collegiate home run.

Kasy'e Lalau pitched all 7 innings for the Lady Swords tonight, despite being charged with the loss, she pitched a solid game. She faced 32 batters, struck out 2, walked 2 and gave 9 hits and 4 earned runs.
UH Hilo's Amber Waracka pitched an incredible game and as a result pitched her team to victory. She faced 29 batters and gave up just 4 hits.
Kasy'e Lalau is charged with the loss, she falls to 1-3 on the year.
The Lady Swords are back in Monday March8th at CORP, when they once again to take the Argonauts of Norte Dame de Namur University in a double header match up. First pitch is set for 4:30PM HST, with the split today, CUH's record is o 4-8 overall and 1-3 in the PacWest Conference. While UH Hilo's record is now 8-5 overall and 4-4 in the PacWest Conference.
