CUH- SB: Lady Swords Sweep NDNU 2 Games to 0

Chelsi Walls Stellar Pitching Leads Swords to Victory in Game # 1

Waipahu, HI – Unlike last night, the Argonauts got dominated early and were swept by the Lady Swords tonight at Central Oahu Regional Park (CORP).  CUH won the first game 1 to 0 and the second game 8 to4.

Game # 1

The first game tonight was won by defense, CUH scored their lone run the Top of the 1st inning, due to conference rules on the second day of playing the same opponent,  the home team defaults to being the away team. The Lady Swords scored on an error by the CF.

Chelsi Walls started on the mound for Silverswords of Chaminade University. She faced 22 batters; she struck out 3and she did not give up any earned runs. She gave up just 3 hits in her 6 inning shutout.

Team captain, Keli-Grace (KG) Kaowili- Sanatian, continues to her impressive 4 game hitting streak. Today she went 2 for 4, first basemen Mellisa Harris had 8 put outs in this game.  

Kasy'e Lalau gets credited with the save, her second on the year.

Game # 2

The Lady Swords got off to a hot start and did not look back. They scored 4 runs in the Top of the 1st inning, thanks in large part to 3 singles and a homerun. Brandi Sasaki hit her first homerun this season. The ball traveled deep over the right center field wall.

At the end of 4 ½ innings the score was Chaminade 8 and Notre Dame de Namur 0. This second game was all CUH, offense, defense, pitching, it was all working. NDNU managed to score 4 runs, however, the 8 runs held by CUH proved to be too much to overcome.

Kasy'e Lalau is gets credit for the win; she improves to 2-4 on the year.

The Lady Swords are back in action March 1th at CORP, when they take on the Penguins of Dominican University in a double header match up.  First pitch is set for12:00PM HST, with the sweep today, CUH's record is o 7-9 overall and 4-4 in the PacWest Conference and NDNU's record is now 3-5 overall and 2-4 in the PacWest Conference.
