CUH MSOC: Swords Unable to Handle Sea Warriors, Drop Match 5-0

Pena saves eight shots for Swords

KANEOHE, HI- Chaminade Men's Soccer took on Hawaii Pacific this afternoon at Atherton Field and lost to the second place Sea Warriors 5-0.

The first half of this Pac West Conference match saw HPU grab the lead with a goal by Chance Bukoski to go up 1-0.  Despite HPU leading in the shot count, the Swords did their best to stay within striking distance and were down 2-0 at the half.  Bukoski tallied the other first half goal (42nd minute) for Hawaii Pacific also.  Chaminade freshman goalkeeper Jose Miguel Pena (Santiago, Chile/St. George's) helped keep CUH close, eventually stopping 8 shots in the match.

The second forty-five minutes saw the Sea Warriors continued to press offensively as Bukoski added his third goal, while Keenan Ho and Alan Albertazzi scored as well for the 5-0 final.

Coach Higgins commented: “The score was the same as the last time we played HPU.  We possessed the ball more, but we couldn't create any opportunities in the attacking third.”

Chance Bukoski led the way for Hawaii Pacific with nine shots and three goals on the match.  HPU outshot CUH 20-0.

With the loss, Chaminade moves to 0-14-2, 0-10-1 and HPU moves to 13-4, 9-2.  The Swords are back in action November 5th in the season finale at BYU-Hawaii at 3:00 PM HT.
