HONOLULU, HI- The Swords lost their final Pac West Conference match of the season tonight to Hawaii-Hilo in McCabe Gym in three sets. Chaminade fell 10-25, 12-25 and 12-25.
The match was all Vulcans, as UHH hit .444 and the Swords hit -.054 for the night. Hawaii-Hilo showed their strength early, winning the first set 25-10 and didn't look back, despite Swords efforts to rally.
Freshman setter
Ka Ua Cale (Waimanalo, HI/Kalaheo) had 12 assists for Chaminade.
Junior
Whitney Viveiros (Hilo, HI/Kamehameha) had 6 kills each to lead the Swords offense. The Swords had 23 digs, while UHH had 34.
The Vulcans won the battle at the net 10 blocks to 1 for Chaminade.
Hawaii-Hilo was led by Hillary Hurley with 13 kills and 8 digs.
