Brisbane, CA - The Chaminade Lady Swords took on the Urban Knights of Academy of Art University this afternoon and were swept two games to zero. CUH lost the first game 6 to 1 and the second game 11 to 0.
GAME # 1
CUH hit the ball well this game, however, their inability to score runs as result cost them. As a team they produced 7 hits and scored only 1 run, while Academy of Art University scored 6 runs on 10 hits. The Lady Swords left 9 runners on base.
GAME # 2
This game started out a bit rough for the Lady Swords, the Urban Knights jumped out to a quick 4 run lead and never looked back, over the next few innings they ended up scoring 7 more runs and won the game 11 to 0, by way of the NCAA mercy rule.
The Urban Knights produced 11 hits to the Silverswords 3 hits. Despite the lopsided score the Lady Swords did hold Academy of Art University scoreless after the first 4 run inning, however, despite their best effort, 7 runs were scored in the 4th and 5th inning of play.
Chaminade continues its mainland road trip on March 30th when they take on the Penguins of Dominican University in San Rafael, California in a Pacific West Conference match up. Game time is set for 2PM in a double header match up.
With the loss today to the Urban Knights, the Lady Swords fall to 7-19 overall and 3-9 in the Pacific West Conference; while Academy of Art University improves their record to 17-9 overall and 9-3 in the Pacific West Conference.
