Kaneohe, HI - The Chaminade Lady Swords were swept yesterday afternoon by the defending DII National Champions, Hawai'i Pacific University, they fell 5 to 7 and 1 to 9.
GAME # 1
Chaminade's first game of the afternoon was a hard fought battle. Despite losing, the Lady Swords can hold their heads up high, they took the lead heading into Top of the 6th inning. The defending National Champions needed to respond and unfornately they did, scoring four big runs of their own to take the lead and eventually capture its 27th win on the year.
Senior,
Alyssa Dumlao knocked in two RBIs in the loss and Senior Captain,
Melissa Harris also banged in one and Freshman, Annastasia Thoms, belted one in for the Lady Swords as well.
With the loss, Chaminade falls to 11-26 overall and 5-10 in the Pacific West Conference.

The Lady Swords lost the second game of the afternoon against # 21 ranked, HPU by way of the mercy rule, they lost 9 runs to 1 in 5 innings. The stats on paper look even, CUH knocked in 5 hits to HPU's 7 hits, however, one batter for HPU had 4 RBI's and one had 2 RBI's compared to the Lady Swords, who had just one RBI, thanks to
Kyree Naiwi's homerun to left center in the bottom of the 4
th inning. This was her 4
th homerun on the year, she leads the team with this statistic.

With the loss Chaminade falls to 11-27 overall and 5-11 in the Pacific West Conference, while the defending National Champions, HPU improve their record to 28-9 and 14-4 in the PacWest.
Chaminade takes on the Brigham Young University @ Hawai'i Seasiders on Wednesday, April 13th, first pitch is set for 1:00PM in Laie, Hawaii.
