HONOLULU, HI- Chaminade Men's Soccer went through another highly-competitive match with an island school this afternoon, dropping a tough 1-0 match to the UH-Hilo Vulcans in the conference opener.
The first half saw neither team score, but the Vulcans out-shot Chaminade 10-3. CUH responded with more offensive play in the second half, out-shooting UHH 7-5.
For the match, Chaminade managed 10 shots, forcing four saves. Freshman
Uriel Soto (Dallas, TX/Duncanville) tallied two shots, while
Dayton Sato (Waipahu, HI/ Pearl City) created several chances, tallying 2 shots on goal for CUH.
The game-winner for the Vulcans came in the 76th minute from Raydan Bala off an assist from Ian Watanabe. It marks the second match in a row where the Silverswords were locked in a 0-0 match past the 75
th minute before falling 1-0.

Jose Miguel Pena (Santiago, Chile/St. George's) was solid in goal, tallying 5 saves in the loss.
With the loss, Chaminade moves to 0-4-1 and UH-Hilo moves to 2-2-1. The Swords are back in action on September 20th at 3:00 PM HT in Laie, HI against BYU-Hawaii.
