Box Score 2 LAIE, HI –Chaminade lost two PacWest Conference contests this afternoon as the Swords fell to the Seasiders of BYU-Hawaii 5-0 in game one and 4-2 in game two.
The 'Siders got going early in game one as BYU-H started the bottom of the first inning with three straight hits en route to three runs and five hits in the inning. The Seasiders tacked on runs in the second and fourth innings to earn a 5-0 victory. Sophomore first baseman

Shannan Hokama (Torrance, CA/South) tallied hits for the Silverswords.

Brett Aspel (Redondo Beach, CA/Redondo Union) took the loss, giving up five runs on eleven hits in six innings of action. Tiffanee Frampton earned the win for the 'Siders, giving up two hits over seven innings of work. Twice, in the second and fifth innings, the Swords left runners in scoring position after leadoff singles started the inning.
Game two saw two scoreless innings before BYU-Hawaii exploded for four runs in the third inning of action. The 'Siders enjoyed the four run lead until the seventh inning when Chaminade charged with a furious rally.
Kelsea Berinobis (Kaneohe, HI/Castle) started the comeback attempt with a walk, and sophomore
Samantha Ford (Honolulu, HI/Word of Life Academy) singled to get the CUH offense going. Senior

Kelsea Berinobis. Hokama then responded with another single for the Silverswords, putting the go-ahead run at the plate in senior
Letisha Vaba (Stockton, CA/San Joaquin Delta JC). Vaba grounded out to end the threat and the Seasiders hung on for the 4-2 win.
Gabrielle Hawkins earned the win for BYU-Hawaii while sophomore pitcher
Kaitlyn Watanabe (Kula, HI/Baldwin) took the loss, giving up four runs on five hits in six innings of action.
Chaminade is back in action for a doubleheader against Martin Methodist on Thursday, March 2
nd in Waipio, HI (CORP). First pitch is set for 4:30 PM HT. The Swords move to 3-7, 0-2 in PWC with the losses, while BYU-Hawaii moves 4-12 overall, 2-0 in the PWC.
