Rohndell Goodwin signed his first professional basketball contract last Friday, inking a one-year deal with the Bristol Flyers in England.
"It feels great to sign a professional basketball contract," the Oakland, California, native said. "But this is only the beginning to my career."
The Flyers, located in Bristol, England, are a part of the British Basketball League, considered to the top pro league in Great Britain. Goodwin is one of three "imports" (players from outside of the European Union) allowed on each BBL roster. Bristol was 16-17 last season and one of eight teams that qualified for the BBL playoffs.
Goodwin was a Pacific West Conference First Team and second team all-West Region selection in 2016-17, averaging 20.5 points per game, the first Silversword with a 20 ppg average in over a decade. His career average of 18.4 ppg ranks third in program history.
Goodwin departs for England in late August. The Flyers' season begins in September.
