HONOLULU – The season-opening doubleheader for the Chaminade University softball team against Hawai'i Hilo on Thursday has been canceled due to rain.
Overnight rain on O'ahu and a steady morning drizzle put several areas of the infield underwater, rendering McKinley High School Field unplayable.
The non-conference twin bill will not be made up.
The Silverswords will now have their season-opener Saturday against Simon Fraser at Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 12 p.m. with live streaming audio coverage on GoSwords.com.
