KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the sixth consecutive week, the Chaminade University men's basketball team remains in the Division II national rankings.
After a splitting two games last week (a loss to then-No. 11 Point Loma and win against Concordia Irvine), the Silverswords fell one spot to No. 20 in the NABC Coaches Top 25 Poll.
Bellarmine (Ky.) remains the top-ranked squad in Division II. Point Loma, the Pacific West Conference's other ranked squad, moved up one spot to 10.
The 'Swords remain unranked but continues to receive votes in the D2SIDA Media Poll. In the unofficial D2SIDA West Region rankings, Chaminade is in a three-way tie for fourth along with Cal State East Bay and Northwest Nazarene. PLNU is ranked No. 1 in the region followed by Saint Martin's and UC San Diego. The first official NCAA West Region rankings that determine the eight schools who receive tournament bids will be released on Feb. 20.
The Silverswords (14-3, 8-3 PacWest) return to action next Monday against Azusa Pacific (11-8, 8-4). Hawai'i Pacific Health is the game sponsor.
The APU contest will be followed by a Thursday, Jan. 31 date against Biola (9-8, 5-6), which makes its first-ever appearance at McCabe Gymnasium.
