WAIKOLOA, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University men's golf team wrapped up their fall non-championship season Wednesday in 16th place at the Dennis Rose Invitational.
The Silverswords shot a final-round 309 to finish with a three-day total of 954 at the 7,074, par-72 Waikoloa Kings' Course which will also be the site for the 2020 Pacific West Conference Golf Championships.
Freshman
Schuyler Peterson (Huntington Beach, Calif./Mater Dei) ended his first major multi-team tournament with the team's top score of 235 after shooting an 8-over-par 80 in the third round.
Jeren Nishimoto (Honolulu/Kaiser) finished just one shot behind Peterson at 236 after a final-round 81.
Desmond Mello (Kaneohe, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Hawai'i-Manoa/Moanalua HS) and
Colby Gunderson (Kaneohe, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Castle) both ended their fall seasons on the right path. Mello carded a 3-over 75 in the finale while Gunderson had the 'Swords' best score of the morning with a 1-over 73. Mello's three-day total was 241 while Gunderson finished at 242.
Daniel McIntyre (Bellevue, Wash./Bellevue) shot an 83 in the final round to finish at 271.
Sonoma State captured the team title while Cal State Monterey Bay's Elis Svard was the individual winner.
