Grant Dressler (Las Vegas/Sacramento State/Palo Verde HS) has been selected to participate in the 2019 Reece's Division II College All-Star Game in Evansville, Ind., site of this week's Division II Elite Eight.
The game will be played at the Ford Center on Friday at 7 p.m. Central Daylight Time (2 p.m. Hawai'i Standard), the day between the semifinals and championship games.
The 2019 Reece's Division II College All-Star Game consists of two teams of 10 senior players. Two are selected from each of the eight regions in Division II with the remaining four roster spots selected from a pool of at-large candidates.
"It's an honor to be selected for this and be recognized for this year's work," Dressler said. "I hope to represent the university well and am looking forward to this opportunity."
The 6-7 guard helped guide the Silverswords to a 23-8 season and their first NCAA West Regional berth since 2014. He was the Pacific West Conference's second leading scorer at 19.5 points per game and led the conference in 3-pointers made at 3.0 per game. Chaminade's 23 wins set the program's Division II era and was the most since 1984-85.
Dressler was also an All-PacWest First Team honoree as well as earning All-West Region Second Team kudos.
"This is an incredible honor for Grant and Chaminade men's basketball," 'Swords head coach
Eric Bovaird said. "Grant had an incredible senior year and we are so pleased he will be recognized nationally for his achievements."
Dressler is the second Silversword selected for the game. Zack Whiting was played in the 2007 contest.
