Men’s Hoops Sixth in West Region

INDIANAPOLIS – The Chaminade University men's basketball team is sixth in the final regular season NCAA West Region rankings released Wednesday.
 
The Silverswords (22-6) dropped one spot after being fifth last week.
 
The top four remain unchanged with Saint Martin's holding the top spot followed by Point Loma, Seattle Pacific and Cal Poly Pomona. UC San Diego replaced Chaminade at No. 5. For two other Pacific West Conference squads, Concordia Irvine moved into the eighth spot while Azusa Pacific joins the rankings at No. 10.
 
The top eight teams after the completion of conference tournament action on Sunday will receive bids into the NCAA regionals.
 
The Silverswords will open postseason play Thursday at the PacWest Tournament at the Dominican University campus in San Rafael, Calif. The 'Swords are the No. 3 seed and will face sixth-seeded Holy Names. Tipoff is set for 12:30 p.m. PST (10:30 a.m. HST).
 
The NCAA Division II Selection Show which announces the 64-team field will be shown Sunday on NCAA.com at 4:30 p.m. HST.
