Bernardo-Flores, Reedy Named HPH Athletes of Week

Chaminade University's Rachel Reedy (Temple City, Calif./Arcardia) and Elijah Bernardo-Flores (Waipahu, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Kapalama) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Silversword Female and Male Athletes of the Week.
 
Reedy, a right-side hitter with the Silverswords' women's volleyball team, was named Monday as the Pacific West Conference Player of the Week after leading the 'Swords to a pair of wins over island rivals Hawai'i Pacific and Hawai'i Hilo last week which was also the team's conference openers. The junior tallied 25 total kills and hit .478 in her eight sets including a season-high-tying 17 kills in a five-set thriller at UH Hilo on Saturday.
 
Bernardo-Flores, from the men's cross country team, finished eighth overall in Saturday's Chaminade Invitational 8-kilometer run, the highest overall finish in his career. The junior's previous high finish was 10th which he accomplished twice last year.
