IRVINE, Calif. – For the third time in four weeks, Chaminade University guard
Isaac Amaral-Artharee (Portland, Ore./Central Catholic) is the Pacific West Conference Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week.
The 6-2 redshirt freshman had 13 points, two rebounds, two steals and an assist in Saturday's 75-71 loss at seventh-ranked Azusa Pacific. Amaral-Artharee made three baskets including a pair of 3-pointers inside of five minutes remaining to help keep the Silverswords within one possession of the lead.
Amaral-Artharee has hit double-digits in the scoring column in five of his last eight games and is averaging 12.8 points during this stretch. He also upped his season average to 8.8, his highest of the year.
The other weekly winners are Aamonde Coleman of Fresno Pacific (Player of the Week) and APU's Selom Mawugbe (Defender).
