Men's Basketball ’Swords in the Pros

Here is an update on former Chaminade University men's basketball players who are playing in the professional ranks this season:

Grant Dressler (guard, 2017-19):
The Las Vegas native signed his first professional contract earlier this year with the Franklin Bulls of the National Basketball League (NBL), the highest pro level in Australia and New Zealand.  The Bulls, located in South Auckland, will be making their NBL debut this fall. Dressler is Franklin's first import, or foreign, signing.

Rohndell Goodwin (guard, 2015-17):
The Oakland, Calif., native averaged 14.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists for Eisbaren Bremerhaven in Germany, his third professional team since departing CUH in 2017.

Kevin Hu (guard, 2012-16):
The Taipei, Taiwan, native averaged 4.52 points while shooting 46 percent from two-point territory and 40 percent from 3-point range while playing for the Fujian Xunxing Sturgeons of the Chinese Basketball League (CBA), considered to be the top professional basketball league in Asia.

Marko Kolaric (center, 2004-08):
The Serbia native has put together a productive pro career in Europe since leaving Chaminade in 2008 – ranked No. 5 in career rebounds – and is still going strong. This past 2019-20 season, the 7-footer averaged 10.8 points and 8.2 rebounds for SKN St. Polten in the Austria-Bundesliga League in his eighth year as a professional in Europe.

Kuany Kuany (guard, 2013-17):
Chaminade's third all-time leading scorer and second-leading rebounder completed his first season with the Sydney Kings of the NBL after spending his first two years as a pro with the Cairns Taipans. The South Sudan-born Melbourne, Australia, native helped the Kings advance to the NBL Grand Final against the Perth Wildcats before the league canceled the final two games of the five-game championship series due to the COVID-19 pandemic with Sydney trailing 2-1.

Austin Pope (guard, 2016-18):
In his second season as a pro, the Burbank, Calif., native had an impressive winter for Vaerlose BBK in Denmark, averaging 18.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game by season's end.

Erik Scheive (forward, 2017-19):
The Marysville, Calif., native completed his first season with Ehingen Urpsing in Germany, averaging 12.3 points and 4.6 rebounds while shooting 53.8 percent from the inside the 3-point arc and 35 percent from outside it.
