Sawyer Storms

Sawyer Storms arrives from the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, Idaho, where he started 29 of the Golden Eagles' 31 games as a freshman last season, averaging 5.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game and will have three years of eligibility.

The 6-foot-8 forward is a 2017 graduate of Idaho Falls High School where he earned all-state first team and All-USA Idaho second team honors after posting 15.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, two assists and two steals as a senior.

Following his high school graduation, Storms went on an LDS mission in Ghana and was in the same group with another fellow Chaminade signee, Jessiya Villa.

"Sawyer has a very unique ability at 6-8," Bovaird said. "He can also score from the 3-point line, drive to the basket and score from the post. He is also an excellent rebounder and defender."

Trevor Trost is transferring to Chaminade after one season at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs, Wyo. The 6-8 forward from Bountiful, Utah helped the Mustangs to their best season in school history this past season by going 30-4, a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region IX championship and a berth in the NJCAA national championship tournament which was ultimately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trevor Trost

Trost averaged 11.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 47.1 percent from the floor and 36.6 from long distance. Like Storms, he will have three years of eligibility remaining.

"Trevor is a good shooter with the ability to score not only from the 3-point line but in all facets of our offense," Bovaird said. "He is coming from a really good team at Western Wyoming that won 30 games before their season ended.

"Both Sawyer and Trevor will bring some much needed dimensions to our team. I am really pleased with this recruiting class and look forward to competing for a conference title."

The duo completes the 2020 recruiting class which includes Patrick Renane, DeRay Seamster, Villa and Raazhel Watkins.
