KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chaminade University men's basketball team on Thursday was recognized for academic excellence by being named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) eighth annual Team Academic Excellence Awards.
The Silverswords posted a team grade-point average of 3.165. It is the fifth consecutive year the team has earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award.
The award goes to teams in the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better during the 2019-20 season. GPAs from all men's basketball student-athletes who are on the roster during the year must be included.
On Wednesday, redshirt junior guard
Telly Davenport (Idaho Falls, Idaho/College of Southern Idaho/Bonneville HS) was honored individually by the NABC for being named to the organization's Honors Court.
