LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Chaminade University women's volleyball team on Monday was recognized as a recipient of the 2019-20 United States Marine Corps (USMC) and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.
The Silverswords compiled a 3.539 grade-point average during the 2019-20 academic term, the team's highest GPA under head coach

It is the second consecutive year – and fourth in the last five – the 'Swords have been honored with the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award. They were one of five Pacific West Conference volleyball programs (Azusa Pacific, Concordia, Hawai'i Pacific, Point Loma) to be honored.
To be recognized for the award, teams must maintain a minimum 3.30 GPA on 4.00 scale throughout the academic year.
