Chaminade University soccer players
Shayla Padilla (Wahiawa, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Oral Roberts University/Leilehua HS) and
Colin Roemer (Colonge, Germany/Barton CC/Wirstschaftsgymnasium Westerburg HS) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Silversword Female and Male Athletes of the Week for games played from Oct. 10 to 17.
Â
Padilla delivered the game-winning goal in the women's soccer team's win over Biola on Saturday. It was her first goal in a Chaminade uniform this season but the sixth of her collegiate career. Padilla's goal helped the 'Swords defeat a PacWest Southern California pod team for the second time this season, a first in team history.
Â
Roemer accounted for the men's soccer team's lone goal against Biola on Saturday via a first-half penalty kick. The goal enabled him to tie the program's career record in points (22) and penalty kicks made (3). Roemer moved into a tie for second in career goals (8) and needs one more to match the team's career record for goals.
