Chaminade University baseball player Jacob Petersen (Sammamish, Wash./Everett CC/Skyline HS) and beach volleyball player Aliya Hofherr-Sanders are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Male and Female Silversword Athletes of the Week for competition between April 6-12.

Petersen picked up a save and win during the week, where he pitched 7 1/3 innings with a 3.53 ERA and four strikeouts. In last Monday's series-ending win at Vanguard, he tossed 1 2/3 perfect frames for his first save, completing a stretch where retired all 12 batters he faced as a reliever on the recent road trip. On Saturday at Biola, the junior got his first start, going six innings in picking up the win.

Hofherr-Sanders helped the Silverswords defeat Hawai'i Pacific University in last Thursday's season finale. She and playing partner DeLaney Poling won their No. 5 matchup, 21-10 and 21-13, the fewest total points surrendered in all five pairings. Hofherr-Sanders finished the season with four wins.
