Athletics Places 79 on D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards

CLEVELAND – Chaminade University Athletics placed 79 student-athletes in the Division 2 Athletic Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Awards for the 2025-26 academic term.
 
Three student-athletes – Selena Buttery, Ace Perry and Ava Walker – were recognized twice as two-sport athletes (Buttery, women's basketball and tennis; Perry, baseball and men's cross country; Walker, women's cross country and softball), making the actual number of Silverswords recognized at 76.
 
Owen Caba (men's soccer), Kirra Carvalho (women's tennis), Lela Gi (women's soccer), Ashley Holen (women's basketball), Haley Mo'okini (women's soccer) and Brycen Shackelford (men's basketball) were honored for the third time by the D2 ADA.
 
Some 21,000 student-athletes from across Division II were recognized with the Academic Achievement Awards. The Pacific West Conference had 1,186 student-athletes honored.
 
To qualify for the prestigious award, an institution's athletics director must be a dues-paying member of the D2 ADA, and student-athletes must have a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have attended a minimum of two years (four semester) of college level work and have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year.
